Poq

Context

Poq is a SaaS platform: one codebase that powers the shopping apps of many different retailers. That is a demanding engineering model — the shared framework has to be flexible enough to express very different brands, and stable enough that a change made once is safe across every app built on it.

Role & approach

As Senior iOS Engineer I built core shared-framework code for the platform. Framework work for multiple tenants raises the bar on API design and backwards compatibility: the code has to be genuinely reusable, predictable in its behaviour, and resilient — because a regression doesn't hit one app, it hits all of them.

Outcome

Shared foundations that let one team's work ship as native shopping apps for multiple major retailers — the leverage that makes a retail SaaS platform viable.
